Triple-Impact Competitor Scholarship

In cooperation with the Positive Coaching Alliance, and in partnership with Hershey High School, the Joy of Sports Foundation is pleased to announce the establishment of a Triple-Impact Competitor Scholarship. Two Awards of $500 each will be granted each year to Hershey High School Seniors. One for a female and one for a male.


  • Any HHS Senior (class of 2019)*
  • Plays a high school sport
  • Maintains a GPA of 75 percent or higher

*home-school senior athletes are eligible

Award Criteria

A Triple-Impact Competitor® makes positive contributions on three levels:

  1. Makes oneself better (Personal Mastery)
  2. Makes teammates better (Leadership)
  3. Makes the sport better (Honoring the Game – respecting the rules, opponents, officials, teammates, and self)

The Triple-Impact Competitor Scholarship Application Process is closed.

Application Requirements

As part of the online application:

You will provide your response to 3 essay prompts.

  1. As an athlete, how do you make yourself better?
  2. What do you do to make your teammates better?
  3. How do you Honor The Game (respecting the rules, opponents, officials, teammates, and self)?

You will need three references.  Each of your references will need to complete and submit this form by April 30th 15th in order for your application to be considered. You will need a reference from one individual from each of the three categories listed below who is familiar with you as a student-athlete and is able to speak to your embodiment of the Triple-Impact Competitor principles:

  1. A teammate, competitor or referee 
  2. A school administrator, teacher or counselor
  3. A coach

Your application and the three references must be fully submitted by the April 30th 15th deadline.  

Applications can only be submitted online.  No paper submissions will be accepted.

Six finalists, three women and three men, will be selected in the first round by the Athletic Director. Winners, one male and one female, will be selected by the Triple-Impact Competitor Scholarship Selection Committee.


2019 scholarship finalists will be notified via email in May, 2019 and will be  posted on the HHS Athletics website.  Winners of the 2019 Triple-Impact Competitor Scholarships will be announced at the HHS Annual Senior Awards night on May 29th and checks will be awarded at the JSF Rec Sports Volunteer Recognition Dinner on June 13th at the Purcell Friendship Hall in Hershey.
